All about my Momma | Our Family

one of my favorite old pictures - I had some serious cheeks

If you ask me about my mom, get ready to hear a nice long speech about all the things I love about her. But today, instead, I'll share a pretty normal length blog post. :)

My mom is a mom to five, plus more if you count all the people who she's loved and welcomed into our home through the years. After people meet her, they can't stop talking about how kind she is. She is intelligent and hard working - the perfect combo of elegance and not being afraid to get her hands dirty outside.
mom hugs are the best hugs

My mom was mostly a stay at home mom throughout all five of us going through school. Most mornings, when I was a kid, she would leave me a note in my packed lunch with a little illustration of me or her. No matter how many artists I come across - her style will always be my favorite. One thing I really admire about her, looking back on those years, is that she was always involved as a volunteer in the community. She was counseling young moms, befriending kids who needed a second chance in life, and going on crazy awesome mountain adventures with teens who may have never had those opportunities.

She is an amazing lady. And she cooks amazing food. She's a loving and supportive wife. And she puts up with (and joins in on) my and my siblings weirdness.
with my mom a week before Bekah was born

My mom is the most encouraging person I know. I think that really shaped my life growing up and totally changed the way I look at people. Now, as a mom myself, she has been such a kind, safe person to share my hardest moments with. I know I can call her when I'm crying or call her when Bekah does something really cute that I just want to share. She's always cheering us kids on and seeing the best in us.

She's always there for me and always believes in me. I love you, Mom! Thank you for being you and for being the most beautiful representation of a mom.

Love,
Bonnie

** I'd love to hear about your momma, too! Hope you all had a great mother's day weekend.
