Saturday Morning Yard Sale Haul

One of the best things about spring: going to yard sales on Saturday morning. Yesterday morning Bekah and I drove over to a pretty neighborhood in Gettysburg to check out the sales. I've been trying to go to this particular yard sale for three or four years now and it just hasn't worked out. This year when my friend Lana sent me the event invite on Facebook, I was so happy that I could finally go! We've had a few weeks of rainy weather but Saturday morning the weather was perfect.

I thought it would be fun to share what we bought. I only brought $4 and some change with me. I love doing that when I go to a thrift store or yard sale... just take a few dollars and see what I can find within my budget. Often, when I'm thrifting, I only end up spending $1.25 or less. I'm happy to report that I stayed under budget... $3.25!

Here's what we found...

1. I'm not even sure what to call this... a doily? $0.25

That combo of pink, blue, and yellow is one of my favorites.

2. A doll bed for Bekah's babies $3.00

Bekah is in a baby doll phase right now and it's so fun to watch. She likes dancing with her baby, sitting in the car with her baby, and even pretending she's changing her baby's diaper. Sometimes when I'm driving, I'll see something move in my rearview mirror and my heart stops for a second, thinking Bekah is climbing out of her seat... it's really just Bek making the baby dance. :) By the way... Bekah loves country music right now.

I haven't decided if I'll update the look of the baby doll bed yet... it's pretty cute as is, but I might like to paint it solid color. Maybe a pale pink or just white. What would you choose? Coincidentally, the doily (?) that I shared above fits perfectly in this crib as a blanket.

3. Angelina Ballerina Book $0 (thanks to our good friend Lana!)

Such a pretty little book... I'm hoping to read it with Bekah later today. Our friend Lana gave this to Bekah when we stopped by her family's sale. She also gave Bekah some crackers and a cute set of bracelets and hair clips... so nice. That was another fun part of the yard sale... we ran into so many friends.

Have you been to any yard sales this spring? What did you find?

Love,
Bonnie

P.S. I opened an Etsy shop this week! I love making things and it's a fun way to push myself creatively. It was so easy and the site is incredibly user friendly. Here's the link to my shop! I'll be adding a few more items this week and I take custom orders too.
